Privacy Policy for Intensity Check

Intensity Check ("the app", "we", "us") is an iPhone and Apple Watch app that compares your most recent workout against your previous workouts of the same type. This policy explains what data the app uses and how it is handled.

The short version: Intensity Check does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your data. Everything stays on your devices.

Data the app accesses

To do its job, Intensity Check reads the following from Apple Health (HealthKit), only after you grant permission:

- Workouts — activity type, start and end time, duration, distance, energy burned, and related summary values.

- Heart rate — heart rate samples recorded during your workouts.

The app uses this data solely to calculate and display comparisons between your latest workout and previous ones on your device.

How your data is stored and used

- On-device only. All workout and heart rate data is read from Apple Health and processed entirely on your iPhone and Apple Watch. It is never uploaded to us or to any third party.

- No servers, no accounts. Intensity Check has no backend server, requires no account or login, and does not connect to the internet to send or receive your health data.

- Local settings. Your in-app preferences (such as which metric to compare and any manual workout-duration adjustments) are saved locally on your device using the operating system's standard local storage. They are not transmitted anywhere.

- Watch and iPhone communication. When both the iPhone and Apple Watch apps are installed, they may exchange workout comparison information directly with each other using Apple's on-device Watch Connectivity framework. This communication happens locally between your own paired devices and does not pass through our servers.

- Notifications. The Apple Watch app may show you a local notification after a workout ends, prompting you to view your comparison. These notifications are generated on your device; no notification data is sent to us.

- Writing to Apple Health. Standard released versions of the app never write data to Apple Health.

Data we do not collect

Intensity Check does not:

- Collect, store, or transmit your health data off your device.

- Use any analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash-reporting services.

- Include any third-party SDKs that collect your data.

- Sell, rent, or share your personal or health information with anyone.

- Track you across apps or websites.

Your control over your data

- Permissions. You choose whether to grant Intensity Check access to your Health data, and you can review or revoke that access at any time in the iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Health › Intensity Check, or within the Apple Health app under Sharing › Apps.

- Deleting your data. Because Intensity Check stores nothing about you on any server, deleting the app from your iPhone and Apple Watch removes the app's locally stored settings from those devices. Your workout and heart rate records remain in Apple Health and are unaffected.

Children's privacy

Intensity Check is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Third-party services

Intensity Check relies on Apple's HealthKit and Watch Connectivity frameworks, which operate on your device under Apple's own privacy protections. Your use of Apple Health is also governed by https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected in an updated version of the app or on this page.
